If you are an owner and you want to make sure a project, no matter the size or complexity, is successful, Herb Marshall, methodically, and in great detail, provides a framework of tried and true best practices in the Project Oversight Guide (POG).  If both owners and contractors use the information provided in the POG, they will constructively work together to proactively drive the success of the project. To often, the relationship between owner and contractor is overly contractual and adversarial in nature, at the expense of project performance.  As a contractor, I recommend that ALL owners responsible for execution of projects employ the framework from the POG, driving project performance to a “win-win” outcomes for owner and contractor!
